Dear Members,
Our 2014 season got off to a slow start due to some very wet weather. League, tournament and public play were markedly less than in previous years. Wally and his crew did an incredible job keeping the course in good shape during some very challenging times. Hopefully, the 2015 season will be dryer and warmer. We had a great addition to the golf course this year with the leasing of the driving range and the special deals for rates at the range.
While there have not been any fee or membership increases since 2006, the Board of Directors has determined that rate increases will be necessary this year. All of our costs have steadily increased while most revenue areas have decreased. This economic reality is not unique to Union City Country Club as evidenced by other area golf courses trying to meet the same economic challenges. We will implement a $25 blanket increase for most membership categories and privately owned cart storage fees. (Student rates will not be increased.) Ten ride tickets will increase from $85 to $95 and the driving range membership will be $85 for the entire season. We are confident that with these modest increases and continued cost cutting measures, Union City Country Club will be able to continue to provide the best golf value for everyone.
An application for membership and the list of 2015 fees accompanies this letter. If you would like to give a membership or gift certificate to someone for Christmas, please contact Bill Dinsmore at (814) 796-4083. As always we greatly appreciate those of you who wish to take advantage of the early rates as this aids us in meeting our winter and early spring costs. We also appreciate your willingness to share our information with your coworkers and friends as this will help us gain new members. You are our best advertisement!
During this Christmas season we are so thankful to you, our friends and members, for the gifts you have shared with Union City Country Club over the years. It is truly a place of many blessings for us all.
